Here are the Facts!!!

Eibach: 26mm/24mm
UUC: 25.4mm/23.7mm

Eibach advertises: 26mm/24mm
UUC advertises: 26mm/24mm

What is wrong with this picture?

Dan, it's true that every 1/10mm counts but in the big picture it really doesn't in this case. Let me explain.

The difference between a 26mm bar and a 25.4mm bar represents slightly less than a 10% difference in torsional strength. On the surface that sounds like a lot but when the size of a bar (at 26mm) means you are getting a 60% and 100% (going from memory) increase compared to the stock OE bars that means a 25.4mm bar would still offer a 54% and 90% increase compared to the stock bar.

Also, if the bar is not mandrel bent but jigs and other methods are used to obtain the proper bends there is a good chance the bar diameter will be altered thereby reducing the bar's size at different points along its length. This would change the bar's torsional integrity because the the bar is only as strong as its weakest diameter. Even quality bar stock has some amount of tolerance. And even though it's very easy to measure the diameter of a bar the entire length must be measured to assure the same diameter. As far as a .6mm difference between a 26mm and a 25.4mm bar; that is 1/42" or the difference between a 1" bar (25.4mm) and a 1 & 1/42" bar (26mm). Very insignificant when you look at the big picture. It still offers a huge increase in torsional strength over the stock OE bars. And we won't even discuss the size bars offered for the M3 by some of the other makers.

Sorry, i was mistaken. But I was the person who told people to watch those measurements of the UUC sway bars. They should tell people the real sizes of their products. Every 1/10mm counts.
