The handling difference is pretty big. The X-brace stiffens the torsional rigidity of the M3. But IMHO, isn't a big deal on the coupe as you have a/b/c pillars to stiffen the chassis.
Sway bars are great for track, but once on the street where you have potholes or even pavement surfaces, the sways will act like a solid axle car creating unbalance from the receiving end of the car to the other.
i.e. Most people will notice how skiddish a fully suspensioned car is on a rough patch of road vs. a stocker.
Now this is NOT to say the x-brace and sways don't have their place....heck for a full track car, every suspension component counts.
But the street driving does demand some compromises.
Thus I personally skipped the sways and x-brace and went shocks and springs and the M3 now handles extremely well to my liking with a nice ride quality.
The stock M3 suspension is already very good...together with Sawy-bars and an X-brace the handling is superb....the question is this: What other benefit do you get from the H&R sport and Bilstein sport combo other than a lower ride....to all experts!
