I have done it, twice. It takes about 2 minutes. the piece slides in and out. There is just a little clip that you need to cut that holds it in, then just work it out. You can put it back in whenever. As for performance, I couldn't tell. One thing you must keep is the baffle near the exit of the box next to the air sensor. That "straightens" out the air flow, directing it so it is less turbulent. One thing I noticed that I felt some gains and sound is it take out the ram air tube coming from next to the radiator, but then you would be letting in hot air, so it is best to keep that in. If you really want the gains, just get an intake and exhaust upgrade, thats the best way. Modifying this and that really doesnt do much.
