STOCK CLUTCH is really shitty, HELP (more) (archive)

Hey all, I have a '97 M3 and I have a recurring problem. Sometimes when I rev it up to redline in first, shift to 2nd and floor it, the revs will just skyrocket without my car accelerating more than a tiny tiny bit (Even though my foot is off the clutch and on the dead pedal). What the hell is with this? Is this something that is abnormal, am I just bad at driving, or are the stock clutches just shitty??
