My old car that I traded in was a 93 Z28, and from my experience MOST Mustang owners that I stomped (and that was every Mustang that I raced) get pretty pissed, or they kissed my butt because they told me before the race that they were going to kick my butt, and then I put 10 car lengths on them and they put their tails between their back legs like a baby! Not every one was like that, but I found most Stang owners thought they owned the fastest thing on the road, and they were very cocky and sore losers--I've already creamed 2 5 liters with my new car, didn't get to talk to them though--I'm sure they were't happy that a little 2.8L 6 cylinder waxed them--I'd say that was the same thing that was wrong with the dude you raced! All you can do is laugh, and keep smokin them!!
