tinted, and am very pleased with it. In daylight, you are able to see in and tell whether or not the driver is male or female, but not at night. For more recognition, 35% may be what you are looking for, however others will easily see you and your passengers in the daytime. I live in MD, and the legal tint is 35% or more, yet I have not had any problems yet, knock on wood.

Best suggestion is go to a tint shop, where you can compare 20, 35, and 50 tints on cars already done. It's too hard to hold up to your windows one at a time and get a good idea, I know, for I have tried.

Like Dakar yellow, I think a dark tint would look nice on white, but stay away from limo tint, 5%, it's way too dark, and you probably would have a hard time seeing out at night, especially the back window.
