the other night, at like 1:30 am, i was traveling down a totally empty road. I could swear the speed limit was 45. It seems that the speed rapidly drops from 45 to 40 and finally down to 30 on the turn. A cop was posted up on the side of the road on the straightaway about a quarter mile before the turn, and radared me at 43mph. She(!) said that the oncoming readout errored so she did one from behind me at 43mph which converts into 44mph. My dumbass didn't even slow down after i saw her thinking that the limit was 45!! So a minute later i see a car rapidly approaching me. The next time a look in the rearview it's tailgating the crap out of me with no headlights on!! I could tell it was a cop from the outline of the lights so i take my foot off the gas thinking i've just outsmarted this cop trying to pace me...next thing i know i'm getting pulled over. She asks me what i thought i was being pulled over for. I said i didn't know. She asked and i said that i thought the speed limit was 45. She said that i was wrong and that it was 30. She told me i had been clocked at 44mph and that she was going to write me up. She came back and asked me if i'd been drinking, and i said no. In the car she made me follow her finger with my eyes. She did this twice, and seemingly approved. I then asked to see the radar, and she ushered me out the car and it showed me the 43. She explain the situation and how she derived the 44mph, and then asked me to take a breathalizer test, stating that my breath smelled like alcohol. I took the test, got a .00, and that was that. She then handed me the ticket, and said that i had a nice car. I replied with "so do you" and she laughed. I kissed infinite ass- i even complimented a FORD!- and didn't get anything to show for it.

Now, do I have any ammunition for court? Does anyone have any angles? Why did she pace me if she had me on radar? Keep in mind this is in CA.
