My '95 M3/2 had a creaking noise coming from inside the door also. It would creak whenever I closed the door, turned on uneven surfaces, or if I pushed down on the door while the window was all the way down. I explained the problem to the dealer and after showing them every instance of the creak problem and proving to them that it wasn't simply the motor closing the window, they agreed to find out the problem. The culprit turned out to be a quarter that was lodged somewhere deep in the door. It didn't make much sense to me but after taking apart the door and removing the offending object, the creak was gone. I still can't figure out the creak coming from the rear though... probably time for some JT Designs rear shock mounts.

I've got the folding seats on the coupe, and a bit of baby powder seemed to clean up that plastic to leather sound. One thing I notice, though - every time the passenger door closes and the window automatically adjusts, there's a creak deep in the door when it settles into place. I'm sure it's this same creaking I hear when I corner hard - has anyone else had this problem? I think this is the last major creak to hunt down, just did the rear shock mounts ;)

In my experience, if you have the folding rear seats, that is the easiest place to look for the creaking sound. Usually the latching mechanism, or the leather to leather contact area.

Next, check the rear shock mounts. I upgraded to the JT Designs RSM.
