That must be a new viscosity range from Mobil 1. I can't imagine them offering both a 0W-30 and a 0W-40. Most newer car makers recommend a 30 weight (top number) synthetic engine oil. If this is accurate information then IMO Mobil is limiting who buys this particular weight range due to it's top number, not the bottom number. It really makes no sense to me.
