This was my 3rd time out in my 95 M3. I had previously won my novice street touring class at the last outing. So I was hoping for another good race. The temp was in the mid to upper 60's all day and felt cold. The ground was cold, the air was cold.. the tires were cold. I had just installed some UUC tubular swaybars the week before and I was curious to see how the full stiff rear/ next to full stiff front settings would work. My first run out I did a 180 exiting a slalom, and lost the rear again on the same run, never hit a cone though. Checked my tire pressure and it was 30 lbs frt driver side, and 34lbs frt passenger side and 36 in the rears. The rear was tailhappy. So I uppded the pressure to 36 lbs in the front, and dropped it to 34 lbs in the rear. This time out I did ok. The 3rd run I was doing pretty good then exiting the last slalom going left towards the finish I did a 180. I look up and eyeball the finish line directly behind me.. I throw it into reverse and floor it through the finish line hehe! People were yelling and screaming.. it was a riot I'm sure watching me tear down the runoff in a bmw in reverse. To bad I didn't get style pts but my overall time was still pretty good that run compared to others in my novice class which cracked me up. It was still better than more than half the cars in my class. I dropped the psi in the rears another 2 lbs to 32 lbs and went on a tear running my best time of the day and best in the novice class. 50.017 :) Oh man my car felt SOO dialed in.. too bad it was my last run :( and the season is now over. There was someone in a viper rt 10 in my class that got beat by atleast 5 other cars hehe. Some of the fastest cars there were rx7's and miata's.. on racing tires of course. I rode in a rx7 with hoosiers on it for a run and it gripped like mad. It felt just like the ///M Roadster I was in with the hoosiers at the last race...grippy. That rx7 did get up and move though. He bettered my time by 4 seconds, but he was a veteran on slicks. I'm very happy with the way my m3 is handling with the sport bilstein/h&r/uuc tubular sways. With it full stiff in the rear and next to stiffest in the front it grips like crazy, with neutral to oversteer handling. Ok I'll shutup now. :) My M3 http://chewtoy.xlr8ed.com/
