there if you need a replacement.

I bought an air filter for my Dinan intake from www.autophysics.com... they have replacement filters that works great for our cars. Their filter has the added bonus of flowing from the front (like the ITG) as well as from the sides. You should check it out...

Static charge ? how would that work ?
Following his lead, here is where I talk about things I don't know about.

I have the Dinan CAI so it uses a K&N and the thing is designed for their specific K&N filter so I can't switch. Apparently Jim C has done a comparison and the ITG showed equal or better flow at better filtering levels. Of course people have said this test was commissioned by Jim C and blah blah blah. But if I had a choice to change my filter I would likely change it to ITG. K&N design has been around for a VERY long time, cars have changed alot, and though the ITG has foam but three layers or something.

again, this is just from what i've read and my interpretation.

As much as I'd like to think I know about intakes... I really don't know that much, but here are my two cents.

ITG filters flow alot more air... and are very common on racecars. K&N is more common in areas where less that perfect environments are available.

Here is where I really start talking about stuff I don't know...

ITG is supposed to flow more, but due to the more open area, it allows larger particles to the engine... bad. The K&N uses their OIL to create a static charge (I heard it somewhere) that helps reduce the flow of particles into the engine... good. Plus it's easier to re-oil the K&N over the ITG. I haven't seen a ITG recharger kit yet.

Now back to what I really know...

When I get my intake, I'll be running a K&N.

Did you put this in an actual Dinan system? How does its size compare....The size of the dinan is approx 6" long, and 5" wide. I have the Dinan as part of my SC kit, and like the idea of the open top... What about the attachment flange...The Dinan rubber is 3.5" Outside diameter; 3" ID.

Last, is this a K&N, or is it a knockoff with different style....I didnt realize K&N made any themselves with the open face design.

Thanks.
