It's tons of fun to fine-tune little bits of handling by adjusting tire pressure, and amazing what a difference you can make. I usually end up with a 3-4lbs more in the front, too. The funny part then is going back to street pressures (I usually run the same pressure all around on the street), then taking a turn and nodding to yourself knowingly because you knew exactly why your car had just a tad of understeer. Fun. Passengers may think your're crazy, but fun.

I hate to point this out since you're having so much fun, I've gotten lost in the labyrinthine SCCA Solo2 classifications many times myself, but you might want to check and see if your car can run in ST. While a 95 M3 fits all the other ST requirements I can think of, the maximum tire width is 225. Don't think anyone would give you a hard time locally, but worth knowing.
