you decrease the rear tires air pressure to increase the contact patch, thus reducing oversteer.

Decreasing rear tire pressure INCREASES oversteer (or DECREASES understeer - two ways of describing the same effect).


It's the exact opposite on race tires like hoosiers from my understanding.

It's the same, regardless of the *type* of tire.
