The Euro M3 3.2 will be slightly faster in a straight line, and much faster around a track or in the turns. The M5 will have more torque, but the M3 will definitely win based on its wieght and size.
The M3 is a sports car, while the M5 is a touring/luxury car. The M5 is a great car, but it can't match the Euro M3 in performance.
Don't tell the M5 board i said this...lol

Silly race question time, how would a 311hp (actually chipped to 349hp, if you believe the chip tuner's specs) 3.6L E34 M5 do against against a euro 3.2L 320hp M3? Would the lighter, but slightly less powerful M3 win? Also what about the 3.0L 286hp earlier model E36 M3?

TIA...
