have any of you used Bridgestone S-02 pole position tyres in the snow before? I just got a new set of them and winter is arriving quickly here in Pittsburgh (normally january is all snowed in and parts of february too). the roads are pretty well plowed for the most part.

This will be my second winter (first was with bald Michelins that had zero traction (had to drive backwards up inclines for some fake FWD traction) and i had a few hairy situations crop up, esp on ice and when the ABS system conveniently failed) But it wasn't really THAT bad and the winter was relatively short anyway.

The stealer quoted me $700 for snows (tyres only) and even then they were backordered. Now i figure that money would better be spent on an HID system or saved instead.... or do you think the Bridgestones are too flukey so I should turn the car into an "M SUV" as one poster called it? I dont commute.
