I was in the same boat a month ago. My dealer didn't have what I was looking for (330i, SP,Black/Black, 5spd man., roof, HK, Xenon). 3 times they located a car to meet my needs from across the country and 3 times they told me the other dealer agreed to trade. However, 3 times the other dealers backed out. If it would have come in I would have taken it but during all this they picked up a 97 M3/4 Black/Black, roof, manual, 40k for $31k. It is a car I always wanted and I could have it now! So I did. And I'm glad I did.

As nice as the 330 is, it is not a pure "sports sedan" like and M3. The 330 is more roomy and comfy for the kids but not as tight and "racy" as the M. You'll like either car but be the M3 reminds you all the time it is a special car.

And if money is important, I spent about $8k less. As you know, a new 330 will depreciate immediately.

Good Luck,
Nick
Should I get a brand new 330 or a 1999 M3 both 4 door?? What would you choose?
