I seriously doubt that the original owner depending on age would even know what you are talking about as far as over revving info since if the guy over revved the car like I did my '95, the engine would be destroyed. Secondly all those other items you specified are good but the most important thing is to make sure the light next to the odometer under the speedo is not on, if the owner disconnected the odometer most likely the light would be on unless of course he disconnected that too. If the owner is a younger person then look more carefully if they are older you may be safer. 77,000 miles is not much for a car of this nature. Also why are they getting rid of it (you really don't care because who knows if they are telling the truth or not) has it been hit? Check for paint over spray and lines in the doors.
