The car could have been in Stool Brownish Green and I still would have loved it. Fat, thick, and solid, the E46 M3 is beautiful, looking more like a M5 coupe than some jazzed-up 330CI. It is the only E46 that I would even consider owning!
As for the color - I found myself liking it at first, then less and less the more the initial excitement of finally seeing the new M3 wore off. Then I would see it from a new angle and think "hey, it's not so bad, almost Estoril here, a little smurfy there, but overall a 1000% flagrant, vibrant blue befitting a new BMW M3." Then I would get up close and sort of laugh at how bright and non-deep it could look, but when I backed away.....as you can see, it was a love/hate thing, and I felt both.
Regardless, it is the car to have. I also enjoyed seeing the Z06 Corvette, but I had the room all to myself on that one - I hate to wait and pick my times for pictures of the new M3 because people were mobbing it.
