The VR4 is a very nice car and thanks to its awd, it should be able to launch very easy, with little wheelspin. I understand someones commment as to reliability, turbo cars as a group have increased reliability issues, and are a real problem if not properly maintained.

I have run up against two vr4's in my stock 95 M3, and had very different results. The first one, which was modified, read on, and I ran with from highway speeds no passengers in either car. We had two runs, the first I was able to hang right with him to about 100 mph when we ran out of room. The second time, he walked away from me to the tone of two car lenghts again to 100 mph. It became very apparent to me on the second run that this car was not stock, and indeed had an adjustable boost controller: more boost=more power=2 car lengths. His car also had an aftermarket exhaust, with 1 large pipe located at each rear corner. I felt a little reassured as he walked away that his car was leaving a little blue smoke in its wake, probably due to piston blowby under high boost conditions.

The second run-in occurred almost under the same conditions, except this guy had one passenger while I had none. This car appeared stock, at least from the exterior, stock wheels, stock exhaust, stock lights, stock aero. We ran once from about 60 mph to 100 or so, and I was able to put about two car lengths on him before we shut down. I felt a little better than the first incident.

With the first encounter, I could here him downshift, again aftermarket exhaust, but with the second I am not sure. I don't know about you, but I underestimate no one. If I am going to run, I will try my best. There are too many hybrid/modded civics and tegs running around to be an arrogant loser.

Peace to all, and have a good Thanksgiving.
