Well, I've got both a 6 speed 98 Camaro Z28 and a 97 M3. The Camaro will kick the crap out of my M3 in a straight line (it dyno'd 312 hp/327 tq AT THE WHEELS w/just a catback and a filter. It was 294 rwhp stock). The LS1 cars (any 98 and later V8 Camaro or Firebird) are VERY underrated. I wouldn't recommend running one unless you have a blower, and even then it will come down to the driver.

OTOH, the M3 wins hands down in EVERY other category. Our stock M3 outhandles my Z28 even though I've done springs, shocks, sway bars, bushings, wheels/tires, etc. on the Camaro. The Camaro brakes should be better (they are 2 piston PBR calipers vs. the single piston M3 units), but the M3 simply stops better. The M3 is smoother, quiter, rides better, and is by far the better car in all respects but one - straight line acceleration.

Chris
