I'm a Jim_C fan. I think you'll find that the concensus is to go with Jim_C.
The stock K&R drop-in filter really does nothing for performance, and there are some who doubt it's filtering characteristics. The cone with a heat shield seems to be the hot set-up.
The plastic water pump is a time bomb. If you know you have one, then you should know to replace it. Some last 80K or more; some disintegrate at 45K. I swapped mine out at 55K and it had cracks. Do yourself a favor and spend the $100-$200 to replace it.Good luck,

I have a '95 M3, all stock. Which chip is best for enhanced street driving performance? I have heard good things about the Conforti... Is the K&N (non-cone type) airfilter a good addition? Finally I have the plastic impeller water pump and it is working OK. Is it really advisable to replace it with the metal impeller type and is this something I can do my self?
