Need help with UUC SS with ERK + Rob-Knob (archive)

First, the 'shifts' are great and I love to go through the gears....however since I have installed the shifter my knob gets very hot after driving for awhile ( I do have the brushed aluminum Rob knob). I am not used to that because it's the first time I drive my M3 with a different knob other than the stock one...is this normal ? It's not like "untouchable" (close) but I am sure if knob would came with a cup-holder it would keep my coffee warm. Seriously is this normal ? Please advice ! Others with same experience ??
