QUESTION ABOUT CLUTCH STOP.. (more) (archive)

I recently purchased a clutch stop for my M, but I have a question, how far out can I put it and still shift saftley? I know that if the gears grind that is too far(obviously), but can I put it in a position such that it the clutch will still barely be grabbing the flywheel thus muaking shifting difficult and causing more wear???

Basically, is it an all or nothing thing (grind/no grind) or is there a middle ground to be careful of too???
