My check engine light is on AGAIN, last time it stayed on and was told my gas gap was loose, hence the light. Its on again and I checked the gas cap, tightened it, and its still on. Does this happen to anyone else? Im sick of taking this car for service every month.

Just tightening the cap won't turn the CE light off - it take a few start cycles and it *may* turn off by itself (I've heard people report this happens, but haven't experienced it myself).

When this happened to me, I told the service advisor I thought it was the gas cap. He took it back into the shop, came back about 10 minutes later: "Yep, gas cap was loose. We reset the light, you're all set". So you might let them know you suspect it's the gas cap, and they *might* get you in & out quickly - I would think most dealers see this fault pretty frequently.

Ever since then, I've been very deliberate about making sure the gas cap is tight (and with my commute, I fill up about every 3 days).

And frankly, if you're getting this fault more than once, it's not the car's fault :-)

Cheers,
