...prior to the Hot Import Nights show this past December 2nd, Dado had installed a set of Hamann pedals that he purchased at the factory in Germany. They were backordered for their deadpedal so I told him about the M5 dead pedal and decided to pick one up. Two days after I ordered it and around 75 bucks later it arrived at the local stealer parts dept. There are about six or eight plastic tabs that are glued onto the back of the deadpedal that need to be pried(sp?) apart in order to separate the pedal. The reason for this is because the dead pedal is designed to replace the entire plastic section of the footwell in front of the hood release. Because this section is different for 3 & 5 series, the pedal needs to be removed from this large plastic section. When prying it apart, don't worry about the amount of force you use because you will not break the pedal. However, you do need to worry about bending the pedal itself which did happen to Dado's pedal. Because we were running short on time, the pedal was never "actually" installed by super glue or any other form of adhesive. This should be very easy because all that is left to do once you remove the pedal from the plastic section is to position and glue the pedal. As far as the appearance goes, it covers about 85 percent of the original dead pedal and has a darker, brushed aluminum look to it. Even though the Hamann pedals were of a brighter metal color, it still looked great when placed in the car for the show. Conpared to the 125-200 bucks you can spend on a good-looking, aftermarket dead pedal, the m5 dead pedal is a great deal. Also, if you are lucky in removing it from the plastic section, it will take all of 5 minutes to install. Good luck, and post a pic if you decide to do it.
