For an m3, unless you are running forced induction, the chances of you improving on the stock system are very slim. The reason that I chose to replace the stock system was weight, look, and sound. As far as decreasing torque...any time you decrease the backpressure in an exhaust system, there is potential for loss in low-end torque. Forced induction systems, especially turbochargers, will benefit from the reduced backpressure simply because they flow much more air than a normally aspirated engine. I am aware of two e46's that have removed the second of their two resonators in order to increase sound. Everyone agrees who has seen or done this mod that if you remove the first resonator it will be counterproductive because of the loss of torque. Due to the nature of the e36 m3 motor, I am willing to trade torque for horsepower because I enjoy revving the motor like it was built for. As far as the Mozart goes, if I can find a way to clear my rear aftermarket sway bar, I will still mount it on my car. Omar is right, it is the best exhaust for the money and sound, I will not dispute this claim.
