I raced my friend's 98 SS camaro a few weeks ago. We raced from several stoplights, all of which I won. Camaro has a tougher time getting traction from a standstill.

From 70+ We were about dead even until i shifted to fifth gear. then the camaro just walked me.

we raced numerous times, there were rev points where i would pull on him, but for the most part you just can't beat that torque!

It takes a perfect M3 driver w/ considerable mods to keep up w/ a SS on the straights.

Without mods there is no way in hell you are beating a SS!!!

my mods are:

AA euro HFM conversion
21.5 lb injectors
AA cold air box
AA cat-back exhaust
EVO underdrive pulley
AA short shifter

Also, car weighs 2996 w/ all fluids less gasoline.
(no sunroof, or any options, spare tire removed)

Best,

Steve M
