What is a fair price for a silver/black 98 M3 coupe, 58,000 miles, HK, sport, paint looks absolutely flawless, new rotors and pads and tires (RE71/RE730) all around? Asking price is over $28k. Is this too high? Just right? I know this is some mileage, but the car is very clean -- hard call for me. Thanks in advance.

As others have said, get it checked out at a reputable shop as a condition of sale. 28K does not sound too bad, I just bought a 97 M3/4 CPO car with 27.5K miles for 29.5K, which is a GREAT price. (year-end deal, they had the car for a while). You don't have any warranty left on that one, so the checkup is ESSENTIAL, and an extended warranty is not a bad idea.

ps, what is a "sport" package on an M3? I had a 325i with a Sport pkg that had tires, wheels, suspension and seat upgrade.
