The CL has a sweet motor wasted in a rather bulbous, FWD, Cordoba-esque personal luxury car for empty nesters.

They're quick for FWD to be sure but a 3-series, almost any 3-series, is so much better. I'd also buy an IS400 or, for that matter, the fwd Saab 9-3 Viggen before I'd go with a CL.
