After driving older BMWs for the last five years (74 2002, 79 528i, 88 325 Conv.) I felt it was time to make my M3 move. I've been lurking in the shadows for quite a while now and have benefited from your input. I've done tons of homework on my upcomming purchase and appreciate the info here. Today I close the deal on my new M3 (subject to final inspection by my good friends who happen to run a BMW repair shop). I'm going with a private partys' 1997 M3 Sedan, Alpine white, Magma int, Lux pkg, SR, Split fold down rear seats, 43,000 mi, orig owner, no mods (yet),5 speed, never hit or painted, in excelent condition. Price is $ 28,000 (northern ca. location). 1st things first: Adding: Cd changer and illuminated shift knob (way too cool). I probably wont add too much stuff anytime soon 'cause I love the car the way it is and also I'll be broke. Thanks again for your help. I'll continue to check the board and maybe someday I'll be able to return the favor.
