I just wanted to write up a quick review of the Mozart exhaust system that I had installed in my '97 m3 on Friday to help anyone else considering this modification. I researched this very carefully before buying as I did not want to spend the money on an exhaust (like 1000 bucks in some cases) and then not be satisifed. I heard several systems and eventually decided to go with the Mozart. Initially I was concerned that it would be too loud, as it is considered the loudest system out there by most people.
Price: Autothority had two systems in stock, the Borla and the Mozart. Looked at the Borla first, it was $850 + installation, then the Mozart which was $350 + install. No comparison in price obviously. For almost 3 times the price, that exhaust better cook me dinner and give me 50+ hp. I can't believe that any system such as Dinan or supersprint could sound any better, especially considering the price.
Install: Easy, I have no access to a lift, so they did it. Shrug.
Fit/Finish: Looks great. Love the DTM tips, and its centered perfectly, never noticed that there isnt much clearence around the rear valence til now.
Sound: It really does sound kinda like a racecar. I have had the windows and sunroof open all weekend. Tunnels and narrow roads with a lot of buildings (cities) are awesome. Really loud when you want it to be, can get a lot of looks if you get on it. I was concerned before the install that it might be too loud, but its not at all, at least for me. It is a little louder on the highway, but it doesnt bother me, just turn the radio up or talk just a bit louder, no biggie for me.
Overall: Awesome sound, great look (DTM tips are awesome IMHO), unbeatable price, sweet mod, awesome value, highly recommended.
Lastly, I want to say that my experience with Autothority was awesome. Very knowledgeable people (one tech had the mozart installed and let me hear it first), great products, great work/installation, cool showroom, great prices. My corners cost about the same as the best price I could find on the interenet. I recommend them to anyone and will be doing a lot more business there myself in the future.
Well thats it, sorry its so long. Thanks to everyone who gave me their opinion before buying the Mozart. If you have any questions, please email me, I'd be happy to help.
