When I got the car, the fool-ass sales rep at VOB, "Bobbette", said that the arm rest simply was not compatible with vader seats. She also said many other dumb-ass things . . . but that is another story. Anyway, I just put one in my '97 over the weekend. $190 from VOB BMW in MD. Took about an hour or so. Great addition. E-mail me if you decide to do it - there are a few lil tricks and things to be aware of that will save you time/effort.

I just bought a '97 M3 coupe, CPO from a dealer, and when I brought it back noticed it didn't have the armrest, the leather part that covers the center cup holder area. Is this something that should be present? It is expensive to replace? Or even covered by the warranty or anything?
