Scott, what are you thinking when you say that 23,000 miles is terrible tread life? For a high performance tire that is very, very good. I got about 25,000 miles on my last set of P7000 SS, which really amazed the tire shop. Most high performance tires usually get only about 15,000 miles on them.

they came on my car when I bought her middle of 99...I went through a summer, fall, winter, spring and one more summer on them...Here's my take:

1. traction.....excellent until you get within 3-6 months replacement time
2. wet!
3. snow............actually BETTER than the Michelin Pilot Sports I now have on the car
4. noise, not bad until that same near-replacement time, at that point they became horribly loud.
5. life...terrible, I got 23,000 miles!

The Pirellis had probably 10% better dry weather traction when new than the new Pilot Sports...

Good luck,
Scott Snider
