Tom Milner does have BMW factory support. Apparantly, they will explore the use of the M5 engine in M3s this year. Sorry to those who knew that. Who knows, it could happen on the streets in a few years.

Here's a direct quote from Speedvision: Third overall wound up with the GT class winner, the No. 31 GT White Lightning Porsche 911 GT3R driven by Mike Fitzgerald/Lucas Luhr/Randy Pobst/Christian Menzel. They fought the class for the vast majority of the day, first with the new Mosler MT900R that suffered an early demise and later with the JET Motorsports BMW M3 (a 5.0-liter V8-powered special built by Tom Milnerís Prototype Technology Group for car owner Tony Jennings), which was eventually withdrawn with engine trouble.

Sorta takes the wind out of the factory idea...but you never know about those factory folk, some have "offices above the paint shop" and are a bit less inhibited.

The car was leading GT class for a while but the last hour of the race I didn't see it. Did it finish?

Definitely curious though. Could this be forshadowing of things to come for the street M3?

Anyone know anything about that car? Weight ratios? HP and Torque? Where to find out more? Hasn't BMW used the track to test new configurations (Porsche does)?

Sure looks sweet. Gimme one.
