I have a cosmos black '97 that's just coming out of the shop in the next few days with new paint on the nose and hood. I thought this might be a good time to put a motorsport decal on the front left corner like the LTW. Obviously, though, the original colors will not work with my car. I was wondering if I could get a new one made using an original as a template. Perhaps shades of silver or even gloss black (I saw a painted gloss black flag over the cosmos once, subtle and very cool.) My questions are: 1) What material--vinyl? Will I be able to put a coat of clear over vinyl? What material could I paint over to give added protection against chips and such? 2) Anyone know where I can get an original decal, unmounted, to trace, copy, or even xerox? I know where to buy, but don't want an extra LTW decal on my hands. Thanks for your input. If the above doesn't pan out, I could have one painted on, but I'd still need a template. --Manoj '97 Cosmos 2dr, dove grey interior 80% tint back half Dinan S/C Pirelli 245/35/18's BBS/RC polished 8.5 x 18 rims Fischer stainless brake lines, foliatech red calipers Euro floating rotors Lightweight spoiler lips Lightweight flywheel Custom-shortened UUC/BLS SS, ACS knob Supersprint exhaust with DTM's X-brace JTD transmission crossmember w/race bushings Bilstein sport shocks H&R sport springs RD sway bar set Ground Control rear shock mounts Pioneer Optical Digital Reference System 12 disc changer Dynaudio 3-ways in front Boston Acoustics 3" center channel Canton coax's in rear (2) Macintosh 4x100 watt amps (2) 12" JL Audio subs
