98 m3 need help (archive)

i have a 98 m3 with 45,000 mls after about 15 minutes of driving im hearing a whinning noise just above idle wich gets louder with increase in rpm's the dealer said it might be the dual mass flywheel. the noise almost seems to be coming from the oil pan area need help ! thanx
