the brakes are very serious issue in the car,
Iam a car dealer in UTAH, and the law is prety
much the same in the US, before selling you the
car and put a temperary tag on the car the car
should be emissioned and inspected, if it was done
at his own facility, its his responsibility, if it
was done at any other facility, the IM/INS facility is respolnsible, or they could loos their
license, and the one is controling this is the
highway petrol, call them and ask for the law.
but first talk to the dealer, they most propably
will fix it to keep a good reputation. do not be
angry at the dealer, it might not be their fault
I mean the IM/INS station did not inspect it
properly.
also there is no lemon law in the US for a used
cars, the lemon law applies only to new car,
beleive me.
if you need any further help you can email me
at basemhamdan@hotmail.com
thanks
hey i just got my inspection 2 ... cost me 526 !!! THATS A CRAPLOAD !!! and for WHAT ?!?!anyway heres the scenario ... i bought a car from a dealership (not BMW dealership) 8 days ago ... im protected by 30 day lemon law ... the dealer said to me "we checked and serviced everything ... for example if this car needed new brakes we would have changed them" ... he even cited brakes as an example ... now after my inspection 2 the service guy told me that i need new rotors and pads ... and that when they inspected the car .. an aftermarket brake sensor was put in and disconnected to the car ... so the light indicating new brakes were needed wouldnt come on ... so now i need new brakes and pads ... i shouldnt have to pay for them right ? the dealer should ?? how should i go about confronting the dealer and stuff ?? should i give the car to him to service ... give it to my BMW guy to service and send the check to him ?? PLEASE HELP !
anyway how much will this cost about ?? should i get it done somewhere besides the dealership ? or should i let them do it all ??
also how much for a nice aftermarket brake/rotor set ?? any recommendations with prices ??? thanks !!!
