HELP! no heater... heater core?? (archive)

i just bought a 95 from las vegas and the old owner never used the heater. now when i turn the heat on it blows warm for 5 seconds then just blows cool air..(the a/c blows ice)
is it the heater core or temp dials??? how much for a heater core? thanks, mike
