I always thought that one should shift at such a point so that, after doing so, he ends up at an rpm in the next gear that represents the engine's torque peak. Usually, this means taking an M3 to redline or pretty close to it. There is an M3 drag site out there with the exact ideal shift points mapped-out. Anybody know where it is?

I think shifting at power peak in an M3 will put you well below the torque peak in the next gear, causing you to lose max thrust.
Just my 2 pesos.
