i believe you mean s50 and s 52 for the M3's. the m50 and m52 are for the the other 3 series and since this is the M3 board i will give the differance on the s class engines. s50 is a 95 3.0 and s52 is a 96 and up 3.2. on paper the only differance is the 3.2 is obd2 as opposed to the 3.0 being obd1. then the obd2 has longer intake runners as opposed to the shorter ones foud on the obd1, 4 o2 sensors as opposed to 1, stainless steal exhaust manifold as opposed to cast iron, another cat, larger fuel injectors 21.5 lbs vs 19lbs, a secondary air pump for emisions, the bore is 3.40 and stroke is 3.53as opposed to 3.39 bore and 3.38 stroke, the two cars also have different fuel systems, the fuel pump on the obd2 puts out 43 psi vs the obd1 with 51 psi, and is rated at the same horse power240hp but 11 more ft-lbs of torque obd2 has 236 and obd1 has 225. and thats all i can remember for now good luck nd remember that sthe M's have a s in the motor code.
