Hey again,

Finally made the plunge and bought a 97 M3 on saturday. I had the vehicle checked over by a BMW service center and the car is CPO. I had them specifically check the brake and tire wear...and the bmw folks said no brake issues...

The brakes were fine for the first 1,000 miles (over past 2 days)and now whenever I touch the brakes I get a increasingly loud and high squeal. It has been getting progressively worse...no stopping performance loss that I can discern...and occurs whether the car/brakes are warm or cold...

I scannned the archive and have found a few people that say this in normal for 97/98...but why would it start only after a 1,000 miles? The car has 14,000 miles on it now...

Could it need new pads? I looked to see if there was a service bulletin on this but only found passing mention of it...BTW the brake pad warning light is NOT on...

Any ideas on how to fix? (short/long term)

Thanks!!!

pT
