No one gives a shit if some "pro in a slower car" "smokes" you, and YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER! If you want to command attention and respect, don't race, don't speed, don't drive under the influence, and don't drive recklessly!!! The public roads are dangerous enough without fools in high powered cars attempting to drive at the like that. How the hell would you feel if you caused an accident that resulted in injury or death to another driver, passenger, bystander or yourself?
Now, if you want to explore the limits of your car, do it in a controlled environnment, like a BMW CCA drivers school. You will be on a closed track with like-minded individuals and a knowledgable instructor in a setting WHERE SAFETY ALWAYS COMES FIRST. It will certainly be alot of fun, it's much safer than playing at high speeds on a public road, and --- if you can keep your ego in check --- it may even make you a better driver. (But God help you, and everyone else in your immediate vicinity, if you attempt to try any of that stuff on a public road!) Rant off.
