pull out your back seat and check the sending unit seals...if they are loose, they may be letting some gas slosh out when cornering, which would explain the odor only when doing so. so pull out your back seat (it comes right up) peel back that felt liner, and turn that big round looking plastic nut thing that holds the sending unit down...there is one on both sided (you will see the cuts in the felt liner pad)...if you see some rings of gas around the sending unit nuts, then there is you problem. and hopefully they are just loose, otherwise the seals may be bad...so check it out....good luck.
