Still pwr mirror prob's - anybody have Bentley? (archive)

I have a 98 M3 coupe. If anyone has Bentley Manual, could you check out p. ELE-242 (Power Mirrors) and explain what's going on? Is there a thermostat control for heater? My wiring is different but I can't see how it would work anyway. What's the dotted line along bottom for ground between driver and passenger side? (i.e. why not solid line)? Heater appears to have 12V in start/run key positions according to schematic. One side is grounded all the time. The other side has 12V unless door control switch is move to right position - then both sides are gounded. That makes absolutely zero sense to me.

Anybody have a clue how the circuit works? If someone has their glass removed and motor removed (4 screws) I'd really like to know what color wires are going to positions 1-4 in motor assembly and also to mirror glass.

I realize not many of you would be interested in this, unless maybe you have some interest in electronics. Any Engineers out there want to give it a try?
