You did not break your timing chain. You over-reved your engine.

This is a well known problem on this board and especially with the 95 M3. Since your engine is not running, expect major damage to your valves and cylinders. If you are lucks, that is the only problems you will have.

If you require a major rebuild, look for a used engine since it will cost you half the cost of your car to do a rebuild.

At the very least you will need to pull the head and look for the damage.


what i mean is, if you turned the motor over with no timming chain would the valves hit the pistons? or would is there clearance from when the motor was built at the factory?? thanks for the help cuz i need it right now.
