Better shocks, tougher springs, but if you want my opinion you'll change them anyway with some aftermarket (Koni, Bilstein, H&R, whatever).
What makes an M3 is the engine. A 318 is no match for an M3 even if it you install the same suspension setting on it.
just my unworthy point of view

If you drive on the street I would go for a 318, less temptation to go fast.
