I like using BMW OEM parts, if they are available. Good examples are X-Brace, M-Roadster shifter, E46 conv RSMs to name a few. For sway bars, my personal preference is ACS or Eibach. At least they are shaped correctly. That doesn't mean they won't cause an imbalance elsewhere since they are thicker, but at least it is one thing (the shape) that I don't have to worry about.
There are just too many over hyped and purportedly over engineered products out there that plainly don't work or will cause problems to your M3 later. It's not easy to separate the truth from the hyped sometimes but that's where doing some homework and common sense comes in. Just my 2 cents.
