Even with the CAI, you still get a fair amount of heat soak at idle. Yes, the CAI lets more outside air in -- but even at speed, when it's 90+ degrees, you're not going to get nearly as favorable intake air temps as you would in cooler weather. Every car, regardless of intake design, feels a bit slower in the warmer months and a bit quicker in the cooler ones.
