I disagree if they cannot complete a job it's their fault and uncompetence. They should shut a hell up and give the guy a break. After all customer is always right.
Difference between a good mechanic and a dealer is the extra step a good mechanic will go for free to assure the best interest for you and the car. A dealer will only do what's wrote on the paper and the mechanic that take cares of the job could care less if anything else covered by the warranty is going to go bad in a short while. He keep quiet till the next time. This is my experience with them. In my family we own 5 BMW and we have all been disappointed by dealers in 200 miles range.
Do you imagine if every club racer would use a dealer as their mechannic. Nightmare
