Rebuilding engine(over rev) Any sugg. on things I (archive)

I am replacing the rod/main bearings. New piston rings, stiffer valve retainers, new gaskets... What else should I look into? The chain from the oil pump to the crank seems a little lose, should I just swap it out? Should I put a new oil pump? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have rebuilt several diesel motors... the basics are the same, but there are a few things I am not familiar with.
